Usability testing is becoming an increasingly demanded skill, required at many levels and across a number of industries. Learning these skills can be a daunting prospect, however in using proven teaching methods it is not impossible to begin the journey to advanced knowledge of a crucial sector of IT development.
Foundation training is tailored to the needs of developers, technical testers, user acceptance testers, test analysts, consultants and managers. Courses teach the skills necessary to perform basic effective testing, as well as an understanding of what testing can achieve. Modules include tutorials on the software development lifecycle (SDLC), static testing, design techniques, management and automated tools.
Intermediate courses teach the BCS certificate in competency with modules including testing and risk, test management and test analysis. Such courses are run over a number of days; giving students maximum time to discuss concepts and increase their knowledge before the final examination. The learning objectives are testing by a single, one hour multiple choice examination on the final day.
Examination is not always necessary on basic courses, as some simply provide foundation knowledge to progress to more advanced stages of training. That doesn’t mean to say delegates leave empty handed. Attendance is proven with accredited, internationally recognised certification and the skills developed at this level form a sound basis for further education. Where examination is required to successfully pass the course, it is often via multiple choice assessments.
Pre-requisite qualifications are required for enrolment on an advanced course in addition to on the job experience. Such conditions ensure the courses can progress at a rate suitable for delegates and their employers and also allows time for more philosophical and psychological approaches to testing.
If you want to improve your employment chances then you should go on a software testing training course, with the first step being the iseb foundation certification
